After an absence of two years Fivemiletown Spring Rally is scheduled to run again on the 16th February 2019.

The event has a new sponsor – Lithuanian Martynas Samsonas – who owns the motorsport transmission manufacturer Samsonas. The event will be known as Samsonas Rally Fivemiletown.

Eight stages are planned (four repeated twice) with a total stage mileage of 28 miles. Service will be in Fivemiletown.

The event first ran in 1989 so this will be the 30th anniversary of the first running. The event has traditionally been the first gravel rally of the year and consequently a lot of crews have used it as a shakedown for the British Rally Championship, the N.I Championship and the Valvoline Forestry Championship.

The 2016 event was won by Sam Moffett / Jason McKenna in a Fiesta R5. Previous winners include Mark Donnelly / Barry McNulty (2014), Garry Jennings / Barry McNulty (2012) and Donagh Kelly / Kevin Flannagan (2011).

A lot of interest is being shown in the event and we are anticipating a large entry.
