It has come to our attention that illegal testing is being carried out in County Tyrone forests.
This year’s road repair bill for the Bushwhacker Rally was in excess of £15,000. A considerable amount of this was for road repairs prior to the rally start and while some of the damage was weather related, illegal testing was also responsible for much of the damage.
As a club we cannot sustain continuing repair bills to facilitate abuse of the forestry roads by some selfish competitors. If we cannot “break-even” with our finances then this means no Bushwhacker Rally in the future.
We intend to take measures to identify those who are abusing the situation and will have no hesitation in reporting competitors / team personnel to the Motorsport UK or Motorsport Ireland.
The penalty for illegal testing can be the suspension of a competitor’s competition licence.
